Back in Germany!

I left Iraq on Friday and I was lucky enough to catch an Air Force C17 MEDEVAC flight directly from Balad to Ramstein AFB here in Germany.  If I hadn't gotten on that flight, I would have had to fly back down to Kuwait for a couple days before heading back to Germany.

It was so great to be back...the first thing that I noticed when I stepped off the airplane was that everything was so GREEN!  It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and it was a nice warm, autumn day.  One of the Sergeants from my unit met me at the airport and drove me home.  It was about a 4 hour drive and I had been up for about 30 hours but I couldn't sleep on the ride, I was so excited to get home.  When I finally arrived home, Malisa and Collin were at Collin's soccer game, so I let myself in the house and surprised them (read: scared the shit out of them) when they came home.  It was very fun and all that I could have hoped for in a reunion.  :)

This picture was from Collin's first soccer game...our neighbor Sophia is on another team, but you'd never be able to convince Collin of that....

The next day we took Collin back to the soccer field where he had his team pictures taken.  These aren't the official ones, they're just ones that I took from the sideline while the photographer was getting him set up.

Later on, we started to take things down from the bonus room and go through boxes that had been left unopened.  Collin and I found the guitar and began playing on it.

And then we finished the weekend up by going out to dinner with the neighbors.  Here's Glorianna, Sophia, Collin and Malisa:

And as an alibi...just a couple pictures of us messing around in the backyard tonight after dinner.
